WPB boaters rescued after vessel reportedly takes on water

WEST PALM BEACH, FL (WFLX) - The occupants of an ailing vessel, reportedly taking on water off the coast of West Palm Beach, have been rescued, according to the Lake Worth Coast Guard Station.

The Coast Guard received a Mayday call from a boat owner around 3:30 p.m., said a dispatcher at the Lake Worth Coast Guard station.

The boat was near the Royal Park Bridge when the owner contacted the Coast Guard, the dispatcher said.

The occupants were rescued by a Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office boat and the ailing vessel was towed to the Rybovich Marina at 4200 North Flagler Drive in West Palm Beach, the Coast Guard said.

It's unclear what caused the boat to take on water.
