Three banks robbed in St. Lucie County Monday

ST. LUCIE COUNTY, FL (WFLX) - We are following a developing story out of St. Lucie County where five people are in custody and the search continues for two others following three bank robberies Monday morning.

Four of the robbers, one girl and three men, were taken into custody after an undercover cop was able to drive them off the road and corner them.

The sheriff's office tells us at least one suspect did fire shots from the car; however, no reports of injuries thus far.

One other man was taken into custody several miles from where the incident occured.

Police say three men were involved in robbing the PNC Bank just after 9 a.m. Monday morning while several people were inside the bank. One woman tells us she had just dropped off a friend to get cash inside and saw the men run inside the bank.

Another PNC Bank as well as a Suntrust Bank in Fort Pierce were also robbed Monday morning.

We're waiting to learn more about the arrests made. As of now, all five people remain in custody.
