JACKSONVILLE, FL (WFLX) - A Florida teen is recovering after being attacked by a shark off a beach in Jacksonville.

A student at Georgia Southern University says she was body surfing with friends when she spotted the three foot bull shark. "I started swimming away and looked back and saw it come out of the water and bite my foot."

She spent several days at a Jacksonville hospital where doctors gave her 50 stitches. But she's not letting the attack scare her.

She says after she's done healing, she plans to get back in the water.
