PBC jail lockdown lifted

PALM BEACH COUNTY, FL (WFLX) - Tuesday morning at approximately 8:45 a.m., a member of the inmate property unit, Corrections Support Personnel (SCP) was pulling an inmate's property at the Palm Beach County Jail, when a powdered substance seeped out.

The Inmate Property Office, located on the second floor of the Palm Beach County Jail, was immediately locked down.

Palm Beach County Fire Rescue was called to the scene.

No one has was exposed to the substance and only the second floor of the jail, where the inmate property office is located, was shut down.

It was later determined that the substance was non-hazardous. The lockdown has since been lifted.
