Weekend Storms... And A Rainy Pattern???

Posted: Updated:

It's the last thing we need, but we could be getting into an unsettled pattern next week, and the transition begins this weekend.  Saturday and Sunday we'll notice increasing coverage of storms during the afternoons.  By Monday into Tuesday a trough in the upper atmosphere will become entrenched along the eastern U.S.  This will bring down some of the extreme heat for many spots, but will also raise our rain chances.  Monday through Thursday could potentially bring more flash flood watches and warnings as we'll run the risk of heavy rain on top of already saturated ground.  It's something to watch... it doesn't look terribly dramatic just yet.  Andy Wood will keep us posted on this potential through the weekend.

High temps will remain near normal for the weekend and next week, with low 90s in the Upstate and low to mid 80s in the mountains.

Hope you have a great weekend!
