RIVIERA BEACH, FL (WFLX) -- Family and friends waited for the arrival of Travis Suit and his three buddies, known as Piper's Angels on Saturday morning. They paddled from the Bahamas to the Lake Worth Inlet for Piper, who has Cystic Fibrosis.
The disease affects her lungs.
Travis' sister, Nikki Stellges said, "He's attained this wealth of support from the community and all the other paddlers, Shane, Joe and Kyle who joined him and we have been waiting all night."
When the men arrived, they were tired and sunburned.
Travis said, "It was really the highlight and connection between the ocean and the healing benefits of what it can do for people living with Cystic Fibrosis and the last 20 hours of our lives we really went through some suffering but it compares to nothing to people living with the disease their whole life and what they have to go through."
Travis wants others to be aware of the disease and how more needs to be done to help those seeking daily treatment. "Any CF kid that you meet they always have an incredible outlook on life and it's because they go through their breathing treatments and medications every day they live with more of a sense of urgency."
