Public meeting over Stuart beach renourishment project

STUART, FL (WFLX) - The U.S. Army Corps plans to hold a public hearing in Stuart Wednesday evening to get comment from residents on removing sand from the beach to relocate in Miami-Dade county to help with beach erosion.

Even though the hearing is on beach re-nourishment, this an opportunity for people living on the Treasure Coast to ask questions about the toxic water.

Residents are still outraged and want to know when the government will step in and do something about the contaminated water being discharged from Lake Okeechobee.

The meeting is Wednesday night at 6:30 at the Indian River State College Wolf Center on Salerno Road.
