Corey Graham, Jr sentenced to life for death of Jimmy McMillan

BELLE GLADE, FL (WFLX) - The man convicted of killing a Belle Glade grocer has been sentenced to life in prison.

Twenty-year-old Corey Graham, Jr., was found a guilty of first degree murder, robbery and aggravated assault during a week-long trial in August.

During his trial, defense attorneys unsuccessfully argued Jonathan Jones, who was with Graham at the time of the shooting, had forced Graham to carry out the crime.

Attorney David McPherrin said Graham would never have gone into the Alabama Georgia grocery store on January 2, 2012 if it was not for an armed Jones making threats toward Graham.

Jones was acquitted of being an accomplice to Graham in the robbery and shooting.
