WASHINGTON (WFLX) - Federal agents continue to investigate the chain of events that led to Monday's deadly Navy Yard shooting rampage.
FBI and ATF agents worked several hours Monday evening to process a hotel room reportedly used by shooting suspect, Aaron Alexis. The Residence Inn is located in Southwest DC. Exactly what items were recovered was not made public.
Reportedly, Alexis was staying at the hotel with a group of other civilian contractors during a business trip to Washington. Police are interviewing those contractors.
Alexis, a former Navy petty officer, and then a civilian contractor, allegedly walked through an office building at the Washington Navy Yard Monday morning firing a hail of bullets.
By the time it was over, 12 people had been killed and eight others were injured.
