MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, FL (WFLX) - A South Florida county is pushing to stop a disturbing and brutal trend of animal abuse.
It's called "trunking". Put simply: Two dogs are placed inside a trunk and the driver closes the door. Then, the person drives around with the music turned up for about a half-hour.
After, the driver stops and opens the trunk to see which dog won the fight. Commissioners in Miami-Dade just passed a resolution that would imposed stiffer penalties for this type of dog fighting.
Now, if a suspect is caught "trunking" they face a $2,000 fine.
