Burglary investigation leads police to possible meth lab in PSL

PORT ST. LUCIE, FL (WFLX)--     Port St. Lucie police and U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration officials searched a home after articles used in methamphetamine production were found, a police spokesman said.

Police executed a search warrant Monday night at a detached structure on the property near Alton Circle and Aster Road in connection with a burglary investigation, said Master Sgt. Frank Sabol.

Police received permission to search the main house on the property and found articles used in meth production, he said.

"It was a meth lab in the past," Sgt. Sabol said.

At the conclusion of the burglary investigation police detectives arrested Linsay Cashman Johnson for grand theft and 3 counts of fraud and Anthony Benjamin Cavil for grand theft and fraud.

An investigation into possible methamphetamine production is ongoing and information will be released as it becomes available.

Officials dressed head to toe in black with apparent black gas masks came and went from the garage area, which had two garbage cans, a recycling bin and red gasoline cans out front. A table was set up under a portable blue awning in the driveway in front of the garage.

About a half dozen vehicles, including a DEA emergency response laboratory truck, jammed the street in front of the residence.

Port St Lucie police say that the Investigation into the possible methamphetamine production is ongoing.
