CAPE CORAL, FL (WFLX) - Several Florida firefighters can now say they are world record holders as they pulled a fire truck for one mile.
In a little bit more than 11 minutes, a team of 50 Cape Coral firefighters set the new truck-pull record. But more importantly, they made the event a charity for 8-year-old Annabelle Starr.
Annabelle was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia this past July. The truck they pulled was bright pink, Annabelle's favorite color. "It's amazing that she's able to be here and able to do this, and we're grateful for that," said Ryan Lamb, Cape Coral Fire Department.
"It's emotional for me, you know, it is. I'm amazed at the support that we've gotten," said Anabelle's mom, Brandy Phillips.
The firefighters shattered the world record by almost 20 minutes!
