(WFLX) - Starting Tuesday, it will illegal for you to text and drive in the state of Florida. The law makes it illegal to send or read texts, e-mails, or messages on smart phones and other devices while you're driving.
The fine for a first offense is $30. Multiple violations will lead to points on your license and even possible suspension from driving. Sending messages to report an emergency or crime is allowed.
Texting alone won't get you pulled over as it's a secondary offense.
