WEST PALM BEACH, FL (WFLX) - A 1-year-old baby boy is recovering Monday morning from injuries he sustained during a robbery to his mother.

West Palm Beach police say that around 11:30 am Sunday, in the 600 block of 31st Street, a woman was walking home from a store with her son.

Police say that two men snatched the victim's purse, and during the course of the robbery, her child fell to the pavement striking his head.

The child was taken to a local hospital and is expected to be OK.

A witness who saw the robbery recovered the victim's purse minus $100.

Investigators say the witness was able to contact police after the men were spotted at 54th Street and Broadway.

Officers arrested Anthony Demauro and James Johnson on suspicion of robbery and child abuse charges.

Both are being held in the Palm Beach County Jail.
