DEERFIELD BEACH, FL (BROWARD HEALTH NORTH) - The fourth annual Ranse Volleyball Classic will take place this Saturday, Nov. 2, on the Deerfield Beach sand courts starting at 8:30 a.m.
The tournament is a community collaboration and will benefit the Comprehensive Stroke Center at Broward Health North (BHN) through the Ranse Jones Stroke Awareness Fund.
Ranse Jones was only 34 years old when he passed away from a ruptured brain aneurysm, but his legacy lives on through the Ranse Jones Stroke Awareness Fund and Ranse Volleyball Classic. The Fund's mission is to provide funding for stroke education, awareness, treatment, care and support for the community.
Top athletes, including 2012 Olympian Steve Grotowski, AVP top players Mike DiPierro and Adrian Carambula and many more, will play. Spectators are invited to watch the competition at this free-to-attend tournament. Proceeds from the silent auction and raffles will benefit the Comprehensive Stroke Center at Broward Health North.
Last year, more than $20,000 was raised and the goal this year is $25,000. There will be raffle baskets and silent auction items worth thousands of dollars.
