Lambert's body carried out in bed sheet

PALM BEACH COUNTY, FL (WFLX) - U.S. Marshals and PBSO Investigators were quietly keeping an eye on Albert Lambert early Sunday morning waiting to arrest him for murdering his ex-wife, Kimberly Lindsey.

That's when investigators say the unexpected happened: Lambert's sister and her boyfriend came out the front door of their Miami home with Lambert's lifeless body in a sheet.

"[Undercover detectives] saw a male and female coming out of the residence, struggling to carry a body wrapped in a sheet, so it was pretty obvious to them what was going on," Palm Beach County Sheriff Ric Bradshaw said.

Bradshaw says Lambert overdosed, but did not leave behind a suicide note.

Lambert's attorney Sunday denied his client committed suicide.

According to investigators, Lambert spent much of the past week at his sister's Miami home -- far from his Jupiter condo.

According to the probable cause statement, his sister helped him pack some of his belongings and moved in with her.

Investigators say he started texting his daughters more and more after he killed their mother, even adding $2,000 into one of the girl's accounts.

Investigators say DNA evidence eventually linked him to the murder.

His black Mercedes was towed from the Miami home on Sunday afternoon. Neighbors aren't blaming his family. "They have nothing to do with it. He probably used their family union to do such an awful thing in that house," one neighbor said.

Investigators say they are questioning the sister and her boyfriend. It is unclear where they were taking Lambert in the sheet, but the sheriff says he "presumes it was to go to the hospital, but who knows".

No official cause of death for Albert Lambert has been released.
