A spokesman for First Energy says they expect to have a majority of customers who lost power on Sunday to be back in service by midnight Tuesday.
Hans Rosebrock says 24,000 customers were affected by the severe storm, and they're working to bring as many customers back into service as quickly as possible. All available crews are out in the field, and he says the company is getting some outside help.
"We look at areas in our service territory where we can bring the largest block of customers back in the quickest, and we whittle it down from there. We have some mutual aid pacts with sister First Energy companies, as well as companies from Michigan and private contractors," explained Rosebrock.
He says it's possible it will take a little longer to restore all service in harder hit areas, such as Wood County.

With many households still without power in the area, some people may be looking into using some alternative means to heat their homes during the power outage. Lt. Matt Hertzfeld with Toledo Fire and Rescue is urging people to use caution if they plan to use a kerosene heater.
"We've had fires where folks would fill a kerosene heater with something other than kerosene, and it's happened where they've used gasoline," he said. "Make sure you have ventilation, keep a window partially open because you are burning fuel and that can produce toxic fumes."
Hertzfeld is urging people to not try to heat their home by turning on the kitchen stove, and if someone plans to use a wood burning stove, make sure the chimney vent pipes are clean. He also says an outage is a good time to check batteries on smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors.
The American Red Cross opened a shelter at Cedar Creek Church at 29129 Lime City Road in Perrysburg at 7 p.m. Monday for residents affected by the storm.
-AEP: Officials say that at 9 p.m. last night, approximately 33,500 of their customers were without power. As of 10 a.m. that number dropped to around 7,800. AEP says the majority of those without power are in the Paulding County area.
-Putnam County: 161
-Consumer Energy: Power in Lenawee County might not be completely restored to all of its customers until Friday.
