Gas prices rise during Thanksgiving week

PALM BEACH COUNTY, FL (WFLX)-- The week of Thanksgiving is one of the busiest travel weeks of the year. AAA had predicted that the week would bring some of the lowest gas prices of the year, but prices climbed.

In Florida, the average price for a gallon of regular gasoline was $3.49 Monday, 14 cents higher than a week prior.

The national average sat at $3.28, which is 7 cents higher than a week before. Florida became a state with one of the highest price averages in the country.

AAA reported that Gulf Coast supplies were more limited after production problems at refineries in Louisiana and Texas.

AAA predicts the price increase will be temporary and that the price at the pump will start to decrease once full production is restored.
