WEST PALM BEACH, FL (WFLX) - West Palm Beach Mayor Jeri Muoio got a close-up look the progress being made on the Palm Beach Outlets.
The 90,000 square-foot outlet mall has been under construction much of the past year. More than 100 stores, including Kenneth Cole and Toys "R" Us, are expected to open there in mid-February.
The mayor says the new stores will complement the stores many of us shop at in CityPlace and on Clematis Street. "We see it as complimentary, in that, it's only going to bring more people to those places. Just the fact that the mall is here has already spurred development in this area, and, I think, we're going to continue to see that happening here."
The outlet mall was designed with the environment in mind. Many of the trees, there when the Palm Beach Mall was, are staying. New trees are also being planted.
