Man comes forward in green laser case involving pilots

WEST PALM BEACH, FL (WFLX) - New information surrounding two Jet Blue pilots who were hit with a green laser while trying to land their plane at Palm Beach International Airport.

A man has stepped forward saying he might have accidentally, unknowingly, did it.

Jacob Finch, who lives right in the path of the airport, says right around the time of the incident, he was using his green laser pointer in his backyard.

Finch says he often uses it to play with his dog, but after hearing the report put out by the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office, Finch says, he got worried. "I feel horrible. It could have hurt somebody which was the farthest thing from my mind at the time."

PBSO has not confirmed if it could be Finch. Investigators say, however, if someone knowingly shines a laser at a pilot, they could be charged with a felony.
