Are you particapating in a lottery work pool?
(WFLX) - Ticket buyers are flowing into outlets around the country to buy a chance at one of the biggest payoffs in lottery history.
The jackpot for Tuesday night's Mega Millions drawing, after 21 straight days without a grand prize winner, has reached $636 million. If the trend continues, it could hit the billion dollar mark.
Just how massive could the jackpot get? Lottery officials say if there's no winner in Tuesday night's drawing, the prize will swell to $800 million and possibly a billion by Christmas!
Obviously, this is causing a very festive frenzy for what could end up becoming the largest lotto in Mega Millions history.
"We have never been in this position to have a jackpot this tremendous -- over half a billion dollars already -- the week before Christmas," said Paula Otto, the Lead Director for Mega Millions.
The Mega Millions is one of the biggest jackpots in the world right now, and the fourth largest in U.S. history.
