Judge extends time for girl on life support after tonsil surgery

(WFLX) - A 13-year-old girl, who is brain dead and on life support, will be kept alive until January 7. The ruling came from a California judge Monday.

Doctors at Children's Hospital Oakland have wanted to remove Jahi McMath from her breathing machine because, they say, she will never recover. The girl's family is hoping she'll still pull through.

Jahi went into cardiac arrest following tonsil surgery earlier this month.
