Dog shot by officers serving warrant at wrong house

HOLLY HILL, FL (WFLX) - A man in Holly Hill is demanding an apology after his dog was shot when police raided the owner's house last week.

Richard Stotler says the officers were at his house to serve a warrant, but the only problem was they had the wrong address.

Stotler says when officers realized they made a mistake, they immediately offered to pay for the vet bill. "I know she didn't lunge at him. They could have used mace -- could have used a taser. This should have just never happened."

The dog still has bullet fragments lodged near her ear and is on three different kinds of pain medications.

The Holly Hill police chief did not respond to the protest at city hall Wednesday.
