PALM BEACH COUNTY, FL (WFLX) - Wind chill advisories have been posted for the Treasure Coast and inland Palm Beach County.
They are in effect from 10 p.m. Monday night until 10 a.m. Tuesday on the Treasure Coast and from 1 a.m. to 10 a.m. in Palm Beach County.
According to the National Weather Service, "Cold wind chill values will pose a hazard to those outdoors without appropriate protection. The weather service recommends you dress in layers and wear a hat and gloves.
It also urges pet owners to make sure their pets are protected.
The following shelters will be open on the Treasure Coast:

The Source, 1015 Commerce Ave., Vero Beach. Dinner at 5 p.m. Monday. Guests must arrive no later than 9 p.m. Breakfast available in the morning. Shelter can accommodate up to 50 people.
The American Red Cross of Martin County is opening a cold weather shelter at 7 p.m. Monday at the Gertrude Walden Daycare Center, 602 S.E. Lake St., Stuart. The shelter will stay open until 7 a.m. Tuesday.
