BOYNTON BEACH, FL (WFLX) - The search has ended for a teen who likely drowned at the Boynton Beach Inlet.
Update, TUE 8 AM: Fifteen-year-old Sebastian Francois was visiting our area from Haiti when he disappeared Sunday.
Reports say he was with his cousin when he slipped in to the water and never resurfaced.
Detectives think Francois unknowingly stepped into a drop off created by an underwater pump.
Previously: The Coast Guard has joined the search for a teen who went missing while swimming Sunday night near the Boynton Beach Inlet.
The boy, Sebastian Francois, 15, was last seen at 7:45 p.m. about 10 feet north of the inlet, according to family and friends.
The teen was reportedly swimming with relatives when he slipped from sight and did not resurface.
Officials believe Francois unknowingly stepped into a drop off created by an underwater pump and was unable to swim well enough to stay afloat.
Boat crews from the Coast Guard's Lake Worth station and a helicopter crew from Miami are taking part in the search.
The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office helicopter will also patrol the area sporadically.
