Charity event opens Palm Beach Outlets

WEST PALM BEACH, FL (WFLX)--  Members of the public have a chance to be the first shoppers at the Palm Beach Outlets on Thursday night.

The mall's official grand opening is Friday morning, but there is a special charity shopping event from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Palm Beach Outlets General Manager Jim Roberts says around 4,000 tickets have been sold so far for the "Open Hearts Open Doors" event to raise around $80,000 for local charities.

Shoppers will be able to go to nearly 100 stores at the mall Thursday night.

Roberts says cleaning up after construction is one of the main final touches that needs to be finished before the mall officially opens.

Those interested in Thursday' night's event need to register online , donate $20 and they have the chance to be the first shoppers at the new mall located off Palm Beach Lakes Boulevard.

The mall officially opens Friday morning. The ribbon will be cut at 9 a.m. and the stores' doors will open at 10 a.m.
