BATON ROUGE, LA (RNN) - A strong start by Texas A&M fell apart in the first half as LSU ran away with game, winning 68-49 at home on Wednesday.

The Aggies (16-12, 7-8 SEC) held the lead by as many as eight points for the first 11 minutes of the game before the Tigers (17-10, 8-7), aided by several 3-pointers, took the lead. The Tigers led 30-24 at halftime and continued to dominate for the entire second half.

LSU shot 49.1 percent from the court, 45 percent from downtown and 50 percent from the free throw line. Texas A&M held an advantage in free throw shooting - making 59.1 percent - but did much worse in field goal and 3-point shooting, making only 30.8 and 23.5 percent, respectively.

Jarell Martin led the Tigers with 20 points while Johnny O'Bryant III added 15 points and Andre Stringer scored 11 points.

Jordan Green led the Aggies with 12 points. Alex Caruso led with five of the team's six assists and five of their 11 steals.

The win marked LSU's seventh straight win at home. For Texas A&M, which beat the Tigers 83-73 during the teams' previous meeting two weeks ago, the loss snapped a two-game winning streak and increased its road losing streak to seven games.

LSU will hit the road for the next two games, first playing at No. 1 Florida on Saturday at 4 p.m. ET. Texas A&M will return home to host Ole Miss on Saturday at 6 p.m. ET.
