GIFFORD, FL (WFLX) - A person was found dead early Wednesday after deputies responded to a report of violence, according to the Indian River County Sheriff's Office.
At 5:59 a.m., the sheriff's office received a call of a shooting inthe 3800 block of 44th Place.
Deputies arrived and found the body of the victim, identified as Dominique Dawson, 27, of Gifford, but are still working to determine a cause.
"When we arrived on scene, we determined that the male was deceased, but there were no visible signs of blood, trauma, or a gunshot wound," said Sgt. Michael Pierce of the Indian RiverCounty Sheriff's Office.
Detectives, crime scene personnel and deputies were expected to remain on scene throughout the day.
