ZAATARI REFUGEE CAMP, JORDAN (CNN) - As the Syrian army has gone on an offensive, President Bashar Al-Assad is running in an election Zaatari Refugee Camp residents say is a sham.

One of the slogans in the Syrian president's campaign is "Together We Will Build It," referring to the destruction of much of the country.

Ahmed, a baker in the camp, doesn't miss the irony in that promise.

"Why did he destroy it in the first place?" Ahmed asked.

In this camp of more than 100,000, it would be difficult to find anyone who would vote for Assad. In a sense, they've already voted against him with their feet.

Only those who left Syria legally can cast ballots, and almost everyone in the camp fled across the border wherever they could.

Turnout here is expected to be a resounding zero.

Hiba, holding her 2-month old son Taha, wouldn't give Assad her vote, but rather something else.

"I'd spit on him and hit him in the face with my shoe," she said. "He has reduced us to beggars."

There was one man who said he'd vote for Assad, but with conditions.

"I'd like to vote for Bashar," said Zaidan, who lost a leg in the fighting. "But only if he brings the dead back to life and he stops the mothers' tears. That's all. If he does that, I'll vote for him."
