Teen pregnant, Boys and Girls Club employee faces felony charges

WELLINGTON, FL (WFLX) - New information surrounding the Boys and Girls Club employee who's accused of having sex with a young girl who is now pregnant.

Detectives with the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office say 32-year-old Corey Collier worked with all sorts of young kids at the Wellington Boys and Girls Club as a coach. But at least with one of the teen volunteers, they say, he developed a relationship, calling the girl so that the two could sneak off and have sex in his car.

Collier was arrested on Wednesday after the 16-year-old victim found out she was pregnant and came forward saying she had sex with the coach at least three times. According to the probable cause affidavit Collier would call, send text messages asking for nude photos, and would show up to the victim's home and park in her driveway.

Investigators say Collier confessed to having sex with the teen, and now faces three felony counts of unlawful sexual activity with a minor and Collier's family say they're shocked. "I don't really know what to say because working where he is working, he is supposed to have a better sense you know than that," said family member Charles Powell.

A spokesperson for the Boys and Girls Club released this statement that reads in part, "We are deeply concerned about these allegations and are cooperating fully with the local authorities in regard to this incident".

Investigators say Collier has no prior criminal history in Florida. In Nevada, where he previously lived, he did have a few arrests for DUIs but nothing related to what he's be accused of Thursday.
