LANTANA, FL (WFLX) - A construction worker was injured Wednesday after falling from a bridge being built on Interstate 95 in Palm Beach County.

At 8:30 a.m., crews responded to 6194 I-95 South for reports of a worker falling off a construction site, said Palm Beach County Fire Rescue Cpt. Albert Borroto in a news release.

When crews arrived, they found the worker, a 49-year-old man, had fallen about 50 feet, said Borroto. However, a Florida Department of Transportation official says the worker fell 20 feet.

Borroto said the worker suffered traumatic injuries and was transported to Delray Medical Center for treatment.

The victim's name has not been released.
