Plans already being made to profit off of medical marijuana

PALM BEACH COUNTY, FL (WFLX) - Despite the fact that it's not legal yet, plans to profit off of medical marijuana are already being talked about here in Florida. Delray Beach attorney Darren Odesnik is just one of many in Palm Beach County who have registered with the state to be licensed as a medical marijuana business.

He wants to be ready if voters say yes to legalizing it on November 4. "The Florida department of health estimates they're going to be about 420,000 registered patients and about 1800, 1900 dispensaries. So even if the state doesn't allow you to cultivate your own, they'll be a number of retail establishments that are gonna be needed to supply the market."

Twenty states and the District of Columbia have passed a medical marijuana law. Recent polls show 60 to 70 percent of voters in Florida support legalization.
