Boca man arrested for shining laser pointer into sheriff's helicopter

BOCA RATON, FL (WFLX) - A Boca Raton man is arrested by the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office on charges he used a laser pointer to shine a light into the cockpit of the sheriff's helicopter.

Deputies say the incident occurred Wednesday night just before midnight.

James McDonald was identified as the suspect by PBSO and has been charged with pointing a light at a pilot and the misuse of a laser lighting device.

Bond was set at $3,000 when McDonald was booked into the Palm Beach County jail.
