KINGMAN, AZ (CBS5) -

Mohave County sheriff's deputies had a big beef with a Fredonia woman after she said she hit two cows with her pickup truck Friday.

A sheriff's office spokesman said deputies were looking for a dark-colored truck seen pulling into a parking lot of a convenience store about 10:25 p.m. Friday. They found the truck with front-end damage and three children inside parked next to the convenience store, the spokesman said.

The children told deputies their mother had hit two cows on Stockton Hill Road and while talking with deputies, their mother, 29-year-old Tori Dawn McKinney, came out of the convenience store.

McKinney pointed at the vehicle and said "cows" as she approached the deputies, adding that she and her children were coming from the north.

She said she didn't need medical attention, but deputies smelled alcohol on her breath, the spokesman said.

McKinney, who admitted to drinking two beers earlier, was given a field sobriety test and taken into custody, the spokesman said.

Her children, ages 6, 7 and 9, were taken to Kingman Regional Medical Center after one of the children complained of leg pain. The other two children did not need medical attention, the spokesman said.

The children were later released to a relative at the hospital.

McKinney was taken to the Mohave County Sheriff's Office, where an analysis revealed her blood-alcohol concentration to be 0.243 percent, or more than three times Arizona's legal limit of 0.08 percent, the spokesman said.

Records show McKinney's driver's license was suspended out of Nevada for a DUI in 2013.

McKinney was booked into the Mohave County Jail on three counts of felony aggravated DUI for having passengers younger than 15 years old and felony aggravated DUI for driving on a suspended driver's license.
