WEST PALM BEACH, FL (WFLX) - Protesters are gathering Friday morning in West Palm Beach to take a stance on illegal immigration.
It is one of hundreds happening across the United States this weekend against, what protesters are calling, a surge of thousands of unaccompanied children entering the country illegally.
The group Americans Against Illegal Immigration is organizing the protests and say 23 are scheduled across Florida.
It's believed many of the children are coming from Central America trying to escape gang violence and poverty in their home countries.
The protests in West Palm Beach are scheduled to take place on the Okeechobee Boulevard overpass over Interstate 95.
Friday's protest is scheduled to start at 7 a.m. Saturday's is scheduled to start at 9 a.m.
