Accused Riviera Beach shooter makes first appearance

RIVIERA BEACH, FL (WFLX) - The man, police say, shot at officers in a busy part of Riviera Beach on Monday morning will make his first court appearance Wednesday.

The suspect, Tavis D. Wilson, 18, turned himself into Palm Beach County Sheriff's deputies Tuesday night.

Police said he fired several shots at them near the corner of Broadway and Blue Heron Boulevard. Police shut down parts of Broadway for a manhunt that lasted hours.

Wilson faces several charges including aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, possession of a weapon by a convicted felon and armed robbery.

He is expected to make his first court appearance around 10 a.m.
