Judge won't release 551-pound man from house arrest

WEST PALM BEACH, FL (WFLX) - A former pharmacist, sentenced to 30 months of house arrest for his role in a massive pill mill ring, wants his sentence reduced.

His argument: He's too heavy to leave home anyway, so house arrest isn't necessary.

Steven Goodman weighs 551-pounds. The federal judge who sentenced him said no way, and that the reason he gave him this particular punishment was to spare the Bureau of Prisons the burden of having to take care of him.
