Bus aide pleads no contest to stalking charges

ST. LUCIE COUNTY, FL (WFLX) - A former St. Lucie County bus aide was in court Wednesday morning to accept a plea deal. Daneta McPherson was arrested last March for harassing a 5-year-old boy on her assigned bus.

Police say she bullied the special needs boy, screamed at him, made him cry, and grabbed him causing his head to slam against a window. In court Wednesday, she pleaded no contest to the stalking charges for targeting the young boy.

McPherson will be on three years community control, two years of probation, and is also ordered to take parenting and anger management classes. McPherson will also not be allowed to be employed around minors and is ordered no contact with the victim.
