WEST PALM BEACH, FL (WFLX) - One person was killed in a two-car crash early Tuesday morning in West Palm Beach.

Traffic homicide investigators said the wreck occurred around 4 a.m. in the 4900 block of Broadway Ave.

West Palm Beach officers said a Toyota was heading southbound on Broadway at a high rate of speed.

The vehicle hit a Ford at 50th Street and Broadway, causing the Ford to strike a pole.

One person died at the scene, but the victim has not been identified.

The Toyota continued southbound after the collision, struck a pole and caught fire. The driver of the Toyota was transported to the hospital with serious injuries.

An arrest has not been made but charges are pending, said police. The crash is under investigation.

A light pole fell down as a result of the crash, knocking out some of the traffic lights.

Crews are at the scene repairing the pole.
