PALM BEACH COUNTY, FL (WFLX) - A man, who told police he worked as a local high school football coach, is behind bars and accused of aggravated child abuse.

Palm Beach County Sheriff's deputies arrested Mark Anthony Chase on Sunday for allegedly beating a 16-year-old.

According to a police report, Chase said, he was a high school football coach in Palm Beach County and also works as a groundskeeper for the city of Boca Raton.

The report says the victim was taken to the emergency room with two black eyes.

Fox 29 was not able verify his employment with the school district.
