Update: Taffy is now in her forever home, but she wanted to let you know she left behind a lot of furry friends at Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League still needing homes.

Meet our Peggy's Pick of the Week Taffy. She's an 8-year-old Labrador Retriever/Bassett Hound mix who is up for adoption at the Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League.

Here's a special message from Taffy:

"Good day, friend. My name is Taffy, and I am just as sweet as my name would imply. I am a quiet and mellow dog, but I love company and companionship. I previously lived with an older dog and five, that's right, FIVE cats! So when I say I am good with dogs and cats, I am really good with dogs and cats! When I am out walking, I look for other dogs because I want to say "Hi" to them all. If I don't get the company of furry or human friends, then I love a good stuffed animal (although I do tend to rip the stuffing out them, so my friends don't last as long as I want them to, lol). If you were my companion I would love to be pet under my chin and at the bottom of my neck. We could also hang out and watch some TV after a nice long walk. Don't worry about being too tired after a walk because I am not one of those overly energetic dogs. I prefer a nice leisurely stroll during my outside time. By the way, I qualify for the shelter's Senior to Senior program. If you're a senior and adopt me, my adoption fee is waived and all you pay for is my rabies tag! So if you are looking for the ideal companion for you and your furry household, then look no further than me, Taffy :)"

Peggy's Picks is sponsored by Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League in West Palm Beach, Harmony Animal Hospital in Jupiter and Community Animal Hospital in Royal Palm Beach.
