LAKE WORTH, FL (WFLX) - Palm Beach County Fire Rescue investigators are trying to figure out what started an early-morning fire Friday at a home on Pesiri Lane in Lake Worth.
Firefighters said the blaze started just after 3 a.m., and investigators said the home is a total loss.
Firefighters said one man was in the house at the time of the fire and had to go to the hospital after inhaling smoke.
His dog woke him up, and both were able to escape the home.
This is the second time this week a dog is being credited with waking up residents after a fire in Palm Beach County.
On Wednesday, a boat, parked at a residence in the 3000 block of Taconic Drive in West Palm Beach, caught fire. The dog alerted neighbors, and no one was hurt in that fire.
