PALM BEACH, FL (WFLX) - A man, police describe as a former disgruntled employee, is accused of shooting a building manager at the President of Palm Beach condominium Friday, Palm Beach police say.
The victim, who was not identified, was shot in the head and transported by Trauma Hawk to a hospital where he is listed in critical condition, according to police.
Police identified the suspect as 72-year-old Charles Michael Croghan.
They say he turned himself in at the VA hospital.
Police say they have had contact with Croghan before, but they did not elaborate. "My understanding from the investigators... Mr. Croghan was terminated from employment there, that he was disgruntled and that he did harbor some anger against some of the employees in that building," said Director of Public Safety Kirk Blouin.
Blouin said Croghan, who was a doorman, had been fired within the past few months.
They say he will face charges of attempted first degree murder with a firearm and aggravated assault with a firearm.
