Monday is last day for voter registration

By Ashleigh Walters

(WFLX) - Monday, October 6 is the last day Floridians can register to vote in the November 4 general election.

You must be 18 years or older, a U.S. citizen and a legal resident of Florida.

If you have been deemed mentally incapacitated with respect to voting, or if you are a convicted felon and your right to vote has not been restored, you cannot register to vote.

If you're not sure whether you're registered to vote, you can call the Supervisor of Elections Office in your county to check.

You can also use online; though, not all registered voters may appear on the site.

The Supervisor of Elections offices across Palm Beach County and the Treasure Coast are open Monday.

Each site for each county has a list of counties, what you need to know to register, and voter ballot information.

The 2014 general election will give voters the chance to select who will serve as governor in additional to myriad other political offices across the state. Voters will decide on amendments regarding water and land conservation, medical marijuana and judicial appointments.

The League of Women Voters of Florida has put together a "2014 Nonpartisan Voter Guide" that includes some helpful details to get you prepared before you step into your polling place:
