Missing Port St. Lucie boy found safe
PORT ST. LUCIE, FL (WFLX) - A missing 10-year-old boy has been found safe, according to Port St. Lucie police.

Around 9:20 a.m. Tuesday, police went to 531 SE Whitmore Dr. to investigate a complaint of a runaway child identified as Patrick Serey.

The missing boy's mother told police that the last time she saw Patrick was at 9:30 p.m. Monday when he went to bed.

The child's mom said that when she went to wake him up for school Tuesday morning, Patrick was gone. She then found a note stating that he was running away from home.

Police visited Morningside Elementary School where Patrick attends classes but discovered that he had not shown up for school.

At 10:55 a.m, a neighbor found Patrick hiding between houses in the 500 block of SE Whitmore Drive and held him for police. Officers said the child was in good health and was reunited with his family.

"The police department was fantastic.  I can't say enough how great they were in helping, Patrick's mother Lindsay said.

Lindsay said Patrick had never run from home before, and had become upset over being grounded. She said he's learned his lesson, but he's still grounded.
