INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FL (WFLX) - A woman, who was working as a bus driver for the Indian River County School District, is accused of having sex with teen student on her bus route, according to the Indian River County Sheriff's Office.
Investigators say in November Shauna Miratsky's husband discovered a possible relationship with his wife and a 17-year-old through social media.
The sheriff's office says after he saw Miratsky and the teen kissing at a Sebastian area park he decided to pose as his wife and get in touch with the student through Facebook. At that point, he learned the pair might be involved sexually, the sheriff's office said.
A little more than a week ago, detectives obtained an arrest warrant for the 38-year-old Miratsky. When the Vero Beach resident found out about the warrant she turned herself in, the sheriff's office said.
School district officials said Miratsky resigned on December 4, one week before she was charged, Scripps Treasure Coast Newspapers reported.
Miratsky admitted to the single sexual encounter with the victim, according to an Indian River County Sheriff's Office news release.
Investigators charged her with one count of unlawful sexual activity with a minor. She is currently out on bond.
Anyone with information about the case is urged to call Indian River County Sheriff's Office Detective Jeremy Shepherd at 772-978-2120 or Treasure Coast Crime Stoppers at 1-800-273-8477.
