PBSO looking for driver who fatally hit pedestrian at Okeechobee Blvd & Turnpike

SUBURBAN WEST PALM BEACH, FL (WFLX) - Authorities are looking for a driver in connection with a fatal hit-and-run crash Thursday night in suburban West Palm Beach.

At about 11:38 p.m., PBSO said a vehicle struck a pedestrian at the intersection of Okeechobee Boulevard and the Florida Turnpike entrance. The driver then fled the scene.

A man was found dead at the scene.

The westbound lanes of Okeechobee Boulevard and the Turnpike entrance were closed overnight but were back open by 5 a.m. Friday.

The victim's name has not been released.

If anyone was in this area around 11:30 p.m. and 11:40 p.m. and may have witnessed the crash, they are urged to contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-458-TIPS.
