SUBURBAN DELRAY BEACH, FL (WFLX) - Authorities are investigating a fatal crash Thursday morning in suburban Delray Beach.
Palm Beach County Fire rescue said a driver hit a power pole near Via Delray Boulevard and El Clair Ranch Road at 7:07 a.m.
When crews arrived, the driver was already dead.
A preliminary report from the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office indicated the crash may have been medically-related. Investigators won't know for sure until an autopsy is completed.
The impact scattered debris and knocked down power lines across the intersection which is closed in all directions.
Power crews are on scene trying to restore electricity.
Investigators plan to be at the scene for several hours so drivers should avoid the area.
The driver's identity has not been released.
