Update: Jamie is now in her forever home! Don't forget about her furry friends still needing homes at Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League.

Meet our Pet of the Week Jamie. She's a 10-year-old domestic shorthair who is up for adoption at Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League.

Here's a special message from Jamie:

"I was found wandering the streets and a Good Samaritan brought me to the shelter to help me find a loving home since I am such a friendly and affectionate girl. Most of the time, all I want is to be held and cuddled. Hold me close and my mesmerizing gold-green eyes will lovingly gaze into yours. All the while I will purr softly and enjoy being nestled into your shoulder. If you sit down, I also enjoy lying in your lap, and while you are gently petting me, I might just fall asleep right there. However, I also enjoy looking out a window and watching the world go by, but I don't want to be part of the outside world anymore. I'm enjoying life indoors very much! My #1 wish is a safe haven with a loving person who enjoys quiet companionship as much as I do. Maybe if some kind person out there has a thyroid problem as I do, we could keep healthy together. You and I would take our medicine, get our doctor check-ups, and we could have a long and happy life together. Please don't let my thyroid issue scare you away. I take my medicine every day and am doing just fine. The doctor says that I have many years ahead of me."
