WELLINGTON, FL (WFLX) - She is Wellington's sweatheart: A 16-year-old soft-spoken sophomore at Wellington High School with big vocals, left "American Idol" judges tuned in. The sound of success has hit a high note for Emily Brooke whose star has been on the rise in Palm Beach County.
Seven years ago, she began singing and playing guitar at gigs around town. She then produced a CD and music video, but most recently, an auditon in Nashville for "American Idol" earned her a golden ticket to Hollywood.
Far from the lights and sounds of "Idol", biology takes center stage at home where the balance of the national spotlight and hometown girl merge.
Humble beginnings have taught her well -- work hard and never give up. This motherly advice has so far paid off and could set the stage for something huge in her future.
Whatever comes beyond the next round of "Idol", Emily's already tapped into an industry that's taken notice of her voice.
Her five guitars and vocals have been heard across the country carrying this Wellington teen to stardom. Yet with all the publicity, there's not a ounce of arrogance.
She's just a good-hearted girl who could be the next "American Idol".
Hollywood week begins Wednesday which, she says, was very stressful and nerve-wracking. Make sure to tune into Fox 29 at 8 PM on Wednesday to see how she does.
